The Court of Leaves

Goodness gracious, can this painting finally be done? Two months and who knows how many leaves later, it seems the thing is finally done. Why Autumn, when Spring is bursting all around? Blame it on the model. The impetus here was Lady Autumn. Two months later I've found her a home. 

The train of her dress and the leaves falling in the background were all done using the Image Hose in Painter, using custom-made nozzles. First time I've used it like this, but boy was it made for this. Once all of the compositing was done (which took 85% of the time), I brought it into Painter and over-painted. So, this is a photomanip that has been further hand-painted. Mixed media? Whatever. I'll just put it under photomanip to avoid pissing off the digital hoi poloi.  

Much thanks to all the wonderful stockers here on dA. I hope I don't miss anyone. There were a lot.

This painting means a lot to me. It got me through a very dark period that seems to be ending. Time to do a Spring version! : )
